ABOUT ME

I know what it feels like to know something is wrong—and still be told everything looks “normal.”

My own search for answers is what eventually led me here.

Alli, Functional Diagnostic Nutrition practitioner supporting women’s hormone and gut health

Hi, I'm Alli

For most of my life, I was the person who pushed through everything.

I worked hard, stayed busy, did what I was supposed to do, and assumed my body would keep up.

Until it didn't.

My health issues started in my twenties. Hormone problems led to birth control. Then my gallbladder stopped functioning properly and was removed. Later came unexplained hives, ulcerative colitis, bloating, food sensitivities, fatigue, brain fog, changes in my mood and weight—and this growing feeling that my body was constantly asking for my attention.

Every issue seemed to be treated as its own separate problem.

A different doctor. A different explanation. A different medication. A different supplement.

But I kept coming back to the same question:

Why is all of this happening to the same person?

I became determined to figure it out.

I changed how I ate. I exercised. I bought the supplements. I tried acupuncture, meditation, saunas, detoxes and different therapies. I saw conventional doctors and functional practitioners. I researched constantly.

If someone told me something might help, there was a pretty good chance I tried it.

And some of it did help.

I'd feel better for a while and think maybe I'd finally figured it out. Then something else would happen—a new symptom, a flare, something that didn't make sense.

I wasn't looking for a magic pill. I was willing to do the work.

I just wanted to know I was putting all that effort in the right direction.

Then came the hives.

They were persistent, unexplained, and impossible for me to ignore.

Eventually, I started wondering whether something in our home could be contributing to what I was experiencing.

Specifically: mold.

I brought it up. I had professionals inspect our home.

I was told it wasn't mold. More than once.

I wanted to believe them. These were the people who were supposed to know.

But my body kept telling me something wasn't right.

So I kept looking.

Eventually, I hired a mold detection dog.

Yes—an actual dog trained to find mold.

He found it.

We tested.

And there it was.

After being told it wasn't mold and questioning whether I needed to just let it go, I finally had proof that something really had been missed.

What followed was more than two years of testing, remediation, construction and rebuilding our home.

It was overwhelming. It was expensive. It was exhausting.

But it also taught me one of the most important lessons of my life:

My body had been giving me information all along.

That experience completely changed the way I thought about health.

I stopped seeing hormones as one problem, digestion as another, stress as another and my environment as something completely unrelated.

It's all happening to the same body.

And suddenly, the question I'd been asking for years—Why is all of this happening to the same person?—felt even more important.

That's what eventually led me to Functional Diagnostic Nutrition.

I wanted to understand more than what supplement was supposed to help which symptom.

I wanted to understand the data, how different systems can influence one another, and what questions to ask when someone doesn't feel well but the obvious answers aren't explaining why.

Most importantly, I wanted to learn how to look at all of that information in the context of the whole person.

Today, that's exactly how I work with my clients.

And I have a soft spot for the woman who reminds me a little bit of myself.

She's proactive. She's willing to put in the effort. She's probably already doing a lot of things “right.”

Maybe she's been told her labs are normal.

Maybe she's been told it's stress, hormones, aging—or that everything looks fine.

But she knows one thing for sure:

She doesn't feel like herself.

I won't promise you that one test will have all the answers or that every symptom has one neat explanation.

But I will listen.

I will take what you're experiencing seriously.

And I will help you ask better questions about your health.

Because if there's one thing my own experience taught me, it's this:

You know your body.

And when it's telling you something isn't right, you deserve someone willing to listen—and look deeper with you.
